Author of Yoga for Lawyers—Mind-Body Techniques to Feel Better All the Time published by the American Bar Association, she received her B.F.A. degree, cum laude, and Phi Kappa Phi honors from the University of New Mexico, and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center where she also received an American Jurisprudence award, was admitted into the Order of the Barons honorary organization, and graduated in the top 12% of her class. She practiced law in NM for 10 years in the following capacities: assistant district attorney for the Second Judicial District, associate attorney in a small civil law firm, and assistant general counsel in government agencies.
Hallie is a nationally certified Yoga Therapist, member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and is also nationally certified in Pilates, and in Positive Psychology with Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar and the Wholebeing Institute. Additionally she received advanced training from Dr. Richard Miller and the Integrative Restoration Institute and has specialized for several years in teaching Integrative Restoration® Yoga Nidra (a form of deep relaxation and mindfulness that is used by the military to reduce stress, relieve pain, and gain better sleep) to lawyers and other professionals. She uses techniques based in modern exercise science, neuroscience, Integrative Restoration and yoga therapy to teach wellness and healthy living courses in stress reduction, functional core awareness, core strength, yoga therapeutic stretching, mindfulness, and the science of positive psychology designed to increase positive emotions and emotional resiliency.
